Need a long walk

So, I'm sat here, spent the last hour navigating how to do a blog roll, thought I had done it, but clicking on show blog button nothing shows up other than my posts, I have comments to reply to, things I need to say on blogs, of course I have things to say :) normally I would get one of the kids to sort out my tech issues, can't really with this, so going for a walk in the sunshine and will try again later!

and a bird has shit on my clean sheets I not long put out to dry, ok mini rant over.

  1. ugh - it's so frustrating to have glitches when setting up your blog .. I used to have "like dislike more" buttons on my posts - they disappeared and I can't find them again :( so yeah I know how frustrating it is...

IF you would like some help setting up your blog roll .. I am willing to give you a helping hand .. it's not really all that difficult - it can be a bit time consuming..... It should pick up on the blogs your following - but sometimes it doesn't... on my blog it picks up some .. but not others .. shrug..

    1. Oh yes please, I have found the widget thing where you add the blogroll, so what I was then doing was say going to your blog, copying the web address, and then pasting into the box, pressing save, but nothing changed, so somewhere I am going wrong!

      help is much appreciated.

    3. Ok - you are sure your 'gadget' is Blog roll right? not Link???
AND you did save it before checking 'view' right?

AND when you added the blogs it showed up in the little box? the list I mean?

I'm pretty sure it's something simple... BUT not being able to see what you are doing - or see what you see..... it's more difficult to help than I thought :(

IF all else fails - you could try googling it??

    4. one other idea - have you "followed" any blogs?? if not try going to all the blogs you read and hit "follow". THEN go to your Blog list gadget and select "blogs I follow" then a list will come up and all you have to do is check off the ones you want on your list... (probably all of them if you followed your favourites)

  2. I would take Morningstar up on her offer. For those who know how to do these things it's sorta easy I guess. I've never been able to do a darn thing myself and have had several friends as my tech people. Thankfully now the kids are old enough where I do ask them for help. As my daughter says, "I'll help you, but I'm closing my eyes while I do it!" LOL!

    1. I definitely am asking for help, I was getting really frustrated and just had to walk away, which I needed its a beautiful day here so was enjoyable. Oh PK that made me chuckle about your daughter, she clearly has a sense of humour! our children don't know about the ttwd aspects of our relationship so yeah would come as bit of a shock if they came across this, I do though suspect they know more than what I think they do!

  3. I hope you manage to get that help for your blogroll. but if you just want to add it to your own reading list in your blogger dashboard on the extreme left scroll all the way down and click on "reading list" then when the new page loads, on the top right it should say Blogs I Follow. click on the 'edit' Pencil icon and add the blog you want to read there.

    1. N i know this is kinda a silly thing to say, but after you've added the widget, click the SAVE icon on the bottom right. Cos I totally missed that when I was adding a new link to my side bar. you'll see an X and EYE and a SAVE icon at the bottom. Good luck.

  4. You can email me if you want sometime - I'm in Ontario Canada so our time if day will be very different. Lol. But I can help. Even with Morningstar's issue of only some blogs showing up.

You said you downloaded the gadget that allows you to have blog rolls on your blog?

Until that time, you can also just head to other blogs and use their blog roll lol

Happy Easter! ( Just the weekend, not making any celebratory assumptions. Lol)

  5. Thank you all for trying to help me, I have followed all instructions, I have googled, utubed, and it all goes as it should up until I hit save then it comes up with Error400! Furthermore as I have messed around trying to do it, I have no idea what I have done but now every time I post a comment either on my own blog on someone else's I have to empty cache every time before next comment or it wont post!

Going to try again when my brain isn't so frazzled!
